Subject: Agra and Rajasthan Tour Dear Shweta,
We returned from India over two months ago. I intended to mail this to you
soon after returning but we were very exhausted after our trip and had to
return to work immediately on the 10th of Jan. In addition we suffered jet
lag for almost two weeks.
This note is to say that we enjoyed our trip extremely. All the arrangements
our of highest order and so were the hotels, including the Clarks at Agra
and Jaipur. The best hotel of course was Umaid Bhawan in Jodhpur. We had
slight problem and delay in checking in to the Clarks in Agra where they
first said that they could not give us the rooms adjacent to each other
but eventually they did. All the guides were good and gave us appropriate
advice at most places. We had a tiny sour note in Jaisalmer. The person
who took us for the camel rides to the sand dunes charged us Rs. 1200 for
four of us (two camels) instead of Rs 500 to 600. We came to know about
this later on from the hotel reception. It is really not the amount of money
which matters but the fact that we felt cheated. I told the guide about
this later on.
Apart from these two minor problems things were fine. Our special thanks
to Mr. Mansingh, the driver who looked after us well. Pl convey our regards
to him.
Last but not least I want to express a special thanks and commendation for
your hard work, prompt replies, attention to details and patience in arranging
our trip. We changed our itinerary a few times (not intentionally) and still
you were very helpful. Please feel free to pass this on to your managers.
Yours Sincerely,
Sanjeev.

Dear Durjay,
I'm sorry we were not able to get together at the end of our trip. It was
very hectic not knowing if we were going to get on the Air France flt. to
Paris that night. We did and we connected with a Delta flt out of Paris
shortly after we got there, and arrived In Denver, Colorado at 5:00 PM on
Wednesday--had a two hour drive to Vail , Colorado where we live and all
ended well. I hope Mr. Rahul waited no longer than 1:30. We liked our trip
and would book with you again if India is our destination. I'm on my way
to the store to get lentils and other ingredients for India food. Please
tell
Nilanjana her cooking class was invaluable to me. I'm proceeding with
confidence with a new cuisine for me because of her.
Thank you for a good
trip to India.

Hi Durjay!
Just wanted to drop you a line saying what a wonderful time we had in Rajasthan.
Your organization arranged things superbly and I can say I would recommend
you highly to others w/o any reservations.
The itinerary was great w/exception of Mandawa. I would not recommend that
place as a site to visit due to lack of interesting sights (painted havelis
were not really good) and the unpleasant tourist-harassing atmosphere.
I very much enjoyed staying at the heritage sites. Bhairon Vilas was quaint,
Narain Niwas Palace was beautiful, Pal Haveli was my favorite only b/c of
the homey friendliness of the staff (the manager? small thin man - was extremely
nice and friendly and helpful and so was his teenage boy helper), and Shikarbadi
was beautiful and a nice respite away from the city. Although our 1st night
was totally ruined and horrible b/c of a very noisy group of children being
there at the same time and our room in the worst location.
I would have preferred a central city location in Jaipur especially. Juhu
is also too far away from Mumbai city center. I took a 2nd class train at
rushhour by myself and although part of the India experience I wouldn't
want to do it regularly! The day manager at Juhu Emerald (very tall youngish
man slightly overweight) was extremely nice and helpful. Anil was the perfect
driver - safe and courteous at all times. I would definitely hire him as
a permanent driver for CompassIndia as he would be a wonderful asset.
Jeetu was very attentive and sensitive to our needs. He also arranged some
fun evening things that I particularly enjoyed (at Bikaner, at a folk cultural
village I forget where I think maybe near Jaipur, and to see a Hindi movie,
and a "CompassIndia exclusive" visit to a Bishnoi village woman)
One point though - I really don't think that fasting should be allowed during
a guided tour, as there are responsibilities of both guide and driver that
could be compromised by getting weak or sick from fasting (this did not
happen on our trip but it could have)
Our other local guides were also very good, w/ Yogi, Sanjeev, and Vishall
Singh especially helpful. Vishall was the MOST patient and gentle person!
So thanks very much Durjay for a very memorable and fun Rajasthan trip!

Dear Shweta,
Compass Tours made our trip to India the best that it could be. Out of
the six of us that were traveling, none of us had previously visited your
country and Compass took care of us from the moment we arrived until we
left. It gave us a special look into the caring personality of the Indian
people.
Before we even left on the trip, we felt great. Shweta, you worked with
us everyday until we narrowed down a perfect itinerary. We loved being
able to have a say on what type of accommodations we would be in as well
as what type of vehicle we'd be transported in. It worked very well.
The guides that you contracted with in Bikaner, Jaisalmer, and Jodhpur
were some of the best I've ever met. Not only were they hospitable and
knowledgeable about their areas, but they took it one step further and
invited us to view some of the culture first hand. In Bikaner, Bihwanas
invited us to his house for dinner and we met his family. In Jaisalmer,
we were also invited to Jintendra's mother's house for tea, and in Jodhpur,
the guide took us to a friend's wedding. On top of that, each guide was
so open about their lives, which are completely different than our American
lives. They talked to us about their religion, their caste, their marriages,
and much, much more.
I recommend that anyone who visits India should use Compass to arrange
their trip. The best thing about it is, that I as the customer, made all
the decisions, and Compass did all the hard work!
Thank you so much for such a rich and rewarding experience! I cannot
wait until I have the opportunity to go to India again!

Hi Shweta!
Now I'm home in old cold Sweden again with nothing but sweet memories
of India.
I really want to thank you for everything; you have done a terrific job
with our trip! We are so great-ful and happy with the service that you
and Compass India have given us. Everything has gone just smoothly and
everyone has been so sweet to us. We just had a few thoughts as you might
have seen in our feedback, but all in all we are SO VERY HAPPY with our
trip.
We will definitely use your company next time we are going to India (we
already want to go back) and furthermore recommend Compass India to everybody
we know.
Once again: THANK YOU!

Shweta
Karen and I returned home on Monday and wanted to send you and your team
a "thank you" for the fantastic trip! Your country is beautiful
and offers an abundance of culture, spirituality, history and adventure.
From someone that has traveled to Europe, Asia and South America, it is
by far the most fascinating country I have yet to visit. From the perspective
of two westerners, it is so clear to us that we only started to scratch
the surface of your country and have so much more to learn.
Regarding the trip logistics, the accommodations, transportation and guides
were exceptionally prepared and well thought out by Compass. They exceeded
our expectations. Everyone was incredibly friendly, helpful and mindful
of our trip. Karen and I have traveled extensively on our own in various
countries and were not accustomed to the attention, care and safety provided
by your team. We are very independent travelers that usually throw on
a back pack and figure the trip logistics out on our own. Having a trip
planned for us was a very different (and pleasant!) experience. As a matter
of fact, we are so used to taking care of ourselves that Karen and I felt
badly that Naka had to escort us to the airport so late in the evening
on our departure date (12:50 am flight). That is normally something we
would just take care of on our own.
We will definitely recommend your company and services to our friends.
Currently, I am trying to convince my husband to visit your country this
year. I would love for him to experience the sites and culture as Karen
and I did.
Please send a special thank you to Anand. He navigated us through the
whole trip safely from start to finish and did an outstanding job. He
made the trip a wonderful experience for Karen and I. I especially appreciated
the Hindi lessons and will be continuing with the language lessons here
at home. Should my husband make the trip this year to India, we will be
requesting Anand's services again.
Shweta, I am sorry we were not able to stop in on the last day to see
you. There were some more sights in Delhi that Karen and I wanted to see
and we kept Anand quite busy well into the evening getting us to them.
I suspect we will be back soon and at that time we will come by to give
you a hug and say "thank you" in person.
Sincerely,
Shannon
